What began as a hobby many years ago has now become a family-owned, full-fledged custom woodworking operation.
T. Wallace Custom Woodworking started out of necessity in the summer 2011. Coming out of college as an elective teacher in a down economy didn't look promising for Thad. He spent that summer interviewing for every teaching job he could, all the while making furniture in case his teaching career was forced to stall.
At the end of that summer in 2011, he accepted a job as a HS Visual Arts teacher for Georgetown Exempted Village Schools. For 11 years, he taught woodworking, video production, and other art/design classes. All the while, T. Wallace Custom Woodworking continued to grow. It was no longer out of necessity, but out of a creative passion for designing unique and personal pieces.
Thad and Jen have four amazing children who each have their own unique place in the family business. From helping with finish work and sweeping sawdust to using the shop as a bicycle raceway, the business is a part of their everyday life.
TWCW is located 30 miles east of Cincinnati on the Wallace's 52-acre family farm in Georgetown, Ohio.
