DESIGN ACCURACY: T Wallace Custom Woodworking LLC reserves the right for measurement accuracy +/- 5cm of specified invoice dimensions and to alter product design to improve structural stability or for any unforeseen issues. Great consideration has gone into our furniture designs to reduce the effects of warping. Real wood products are hygroscopic in nature; they will readily absorb and expel moisture from the atmosphere. Ambient changes in temperature and humidity can cause expansion and contraction in wood products. These dimensional changes may result in cracking, splintering and/or warping; all of which are considered intrinsic risks of wood products and are not claimable defects. T Wallace Custom Woodworking LLC requires all clients to maintain a constant 30% interior humidity level to avoid the deformation of products. T Wallace Custom Woodworking LLC is not liable for any deformations while in the client’s care.
AGREED RETURNS: Upon agreement of returned items a 15% restocking fee will be applied. This includes but is not limited to the rejection of items upon initial delivery. The client is responsible for delivery in original condition.
STAINING: T Wallace Custom Woodworking LLC is not liable for shade and/or color variances. All stains are provided by Minwax or Rubio Monocoat unless requested by the client. Shades and colors can vary dramatically from wood species to species. Color deviation of any form is not a claimable defect.

STRUCTURAL / COSMETIC STANDARD
At T. Wallace Custom Woodworking, we take great pride in each and every unique piece of solid furniture we sell. Our furniture is made from real, solid wood and oftentimes reclaimed wood. Each piece of wood has unique markings–possibly knots, nail holes, saw marks, splits (never structural), wormholes and other “flaws” like we all have – that we embrace at TWCW. We believe these marks are beautiful and add to the richness and story of every piece of furniture we build. Just as every tree is unique, so too is every piece of furniture that is handcrafted and hand finished just for you.
Please read through our Policy and our structural/cosmetic standards below before placing an order with us.
NOTE: By placing an order with us, you are agreeing that you understand and agree with the conditions of these standards and all Policies stated on twcwoodworking.com
WOOD & STAIN VARIATIONS
Every piece of furniture will have a unique grain pattern and slight color variation as a result of the grain pattern. We cannot guarantee exact stain matches to other tables we've done in the past. Wood does have a mind of it's own and every piece of wood accepts stain differently. We cannot control it. We will use the correct stain or paint color that you requested for your order, but there is a chance the color will vary slightly from the table or picture you were thinking of when you placed the order. This is normal. We cannot rework the finishing on your table to get a perfect match.
MATCHING STAIN COLORS
We do NOT match stain colors from photos. The only way we can do any type of custom stain color for you is if you bring us the stain yourself and tell us which type of wood to use. All wood types receive stain differently. Once you bring us the stain and tell us which wood to use, we will do what you've asked, however - we cannot rework staining that did not come out exactly as you had in mind. Why? Because - every piece of wood has a unique grain pattern and there will always be slight color variations.
SANDING & STAIN COLORS
The finer finish you would like your table, the lighter your stain will be. The more that your table is distressed, the darker your stain will be. Why? Because wood has pores and as wood is finely sanded, the pores shut off - allowing less stain into the wood - resulting in a lighter color. The more distressed a table is, generally it means that the pores of the wood are still open (since it hasn't been finely sanded) and it will accept the stain darker. If you are ordering your finely finished table based off of a photo of a heavily distressed table and you want the same stain, please know that the stain is going to look different on your finely finished, non-distressed table.
RECLAIMED WOOD
Please note that if you are ordering a table which uses reclaimed wood there will most likely be small waves in your table top. If you are looking for a perfectly smooth/flat top, you will want to ask for a smooth option. This will eliminate the texture of the wood. Also, with ordering reclaimed, there may be spots we needed to sand through to eliminate large waves in your table, meaning that we cannot guarantee every single spot on the table will be filled with circle saw kerf marks. Circle saw marks give it character, and there are unique challenges in working with it. Please be aware of this. Another thing to note is we use clear and/or black epoxy to fill cracks, nail holes and other imperfections on reclaimed wood table tops. This highlights the character of the aged wood and gives stability as well but has a lot of variation which in most cases is out of our control. Non-structural knots, splits, cracks, nail holes, worm holes, color variation, unique markings, unique textures, voids, dents, divets are not considered defective in reclaimed wood furniture.
GENERAL VARIATIONS IN FURNITURE
Other characteristics of handcrafted, solid wood furniture include open knots, visible brush strokes, micro-imperfections and textural variations in the durable, hand brushed finishes, unique distress marks, exposed screws, wood filler marks, joint lines, and distinctive nicks, splits, cracks, and other imperfections. We allow up to approximately 5cm of variation across all measurements due to the custom nature of the handcrafted furniture we build.
Those who do not appreciate variations and imperfections should not purchase handcrafted furniture.
Solid wood will expand and contract over time due to changes in temperature and humidity. This natural movement enhances the one of a kind beauty of solid wood, handcrafted furniture. It does not affect structural integrity, is not considered defective and does not imply shoddy craftsmanship. Once the furniture leaves our shop these variations are out of our control.
You will still see the beautiful and natural open knots on jointed table tops. We do not offer machine manufactured perfection - no two pieces are exactly alike since T. Wallace Custom Woodworking's furniture is crafted to your order specifications.
We celebrate the true uniqueness of every piece of solid wood furniture that is built and finished by hand in our wood shop. It is our hope that you will as well.
